Dept. Homepage(KOR)Greetings
As the only department in Korea that leads intangible heritage, we want to lead the academic development and social contribution of intangible heritage, which is the driving force behind human imagination and creative inspiration.
Ultimately, it respects the value of cultural diversity and aims to establish a new knowledge system by creating future values of intangible heritage from various angles. Intangible heritage is the totality of cultural heritage passed down through people. While visible cultural assets are considered important, the recognition and research on intangible heritage, the driving force behind the creation and development of them, is still in its infancy. If tangible heritage is a historical achievement, intangible heritage is a modern tradition that lives and breathes back in time and space. This is why domestic and international intangible heritage policies have expanded and their values have become prized.
The study of intangible heritage requires comprehensive and in-depth academic training. Against this backdrop, we aim to cultivate the best experts in the fields of conservation, utilization, and policy of intangible heritage.
Thank you.
